Since he was a child in Palermo, Italy, Hector has been around men’s fashion. His father was a tailor who ran a small shop and where his mother also worked. When Hector was 21, he came to Canada, learned English, and moved to New York City to study menswear design.
“Bespoke tailoring requires equal measures of imagination and precision, bringing out the finer details others may overlook.”
Hector’s attention to quality and detail throughout a suit’s fabrication is the same as the care taken in his father’s shop back in Sicily. As Head Designer, Hector is responsible for creating Antonacci’s collection of pattern blocks. It’s a labour of love: Hector creates patterns, grades each style with the help of digital technology, then tests, adjusts and perfects each pattern for each custom suit.
As the President of Antonacci, Marcello oversees operations and guides the company’s customer relations, ensuring seamless service, efficient processes and a culture of professionalism throughout the company.
“My mission is to ensure each Antonacci customer feels valued, understood and genuinely cared for.”
Through Marcello’s keen business instincts and customer-driven approach, Antonacci has grown to become one of the world’s most prolific and well-regarded bespoke houses.
Sam started tailoring when he was a young boy. He developed his craft in small, incremental steps: first sewing by hand, then making button holes, then pockets. He worked with his cousins in an uncle’s shop, producing 25 custom suits a week.
“The mentality I grew up with was to just learn. Absorb what was being offered. Make customers happy and never argue.”
Sam came to Canada and apprenticed further with a number of master tailors, perfecting the art of finishing, alterations and fitting a garment to the individual. For Sam, it’s the finish and styling that give the piece its look. A suit must work with your body – the style and cut should improve or highlight the customer’s attributes.
Sebastian Garofalo will tell you the suits they make at Antonacci are garments of the quality your great-grandfather would have worn. The quality of raw materials used in every suit starts from the purchases he makes: Italian and English-made cloth, horsehair canvas, cotton lining, even German-made silk thread.
Asked what is special about an Antonacci suit, Sebastian says,
“It’s got sex appeal, it’s crisp and clean, it doesn’t bubble or pucker.”
Sebastian’s father was a tailor, his uncle was a tailor, his mother was a seamstress in Toronto, and he learned the business by being immersed in tailoring from the start. Sebastian has been with Antonacci since 1999, continuously expanding his detailed knowledge of what comprises the best in menswear.

From initial consultation through to your final fitting, expect the entire process to take approximately four weeks. One of the greatest attractions to owning a bespoke suit is the meticulous attention paid to every last detail. Every step in the process requires time to get everything right; there are no shortcuts. We recommend you be wary of any tailor who promises you a bespoke suit in less than the industry standard four-week timeframe.
The bespoke process traditionally requires three or four visits: the first for your initial consultation, followed by two or three rounds of fittings. If you are unable to visit our Norfinch Drive, Toronto, atelier, you are welcome to book your personal fittings in your home or office anywhere within the Greater Toronto Area.
Much of the cost that goes into a bespoke suit is decided by the fabrics selected and the countless details desired. The average Antonacci suit costs between $3,000 and $12,000. Given that we are principally a private label tailor with a modest showroom located in North Toronto, our bespoke suits tend to cost less than an equivalent suit purchased at one of downtown Toronto’s more traditional “Bay Street” custom clothiers.
Make sure to dry clean your suit at a reputable cleaner. We also recommend dry cleaning your suit if you have been storing it unused for an extended period of time.
A bespoke suit is one that is fully designed and hand-crafted from beginning to end in a reflection of your unique tastes. The pattern (blueprint), and every element, cut and colour is hand-selected by you, the wearer. A made-to-measure suit begins with a block (ready-made) pattern and offers fewer design flexibilities, though it can be made with fabrics and materials equal to those found in bespoke.
