Perhaps the most defining feature of a bespoke garment is the consultative process involved in its creation. At Antonacci, we suggest the client commit to three separate consultation sessions to ensure the final masterpiece achieves its ultimate vision.
Your first visit is centred on developing a customized pattern, which involves taking precise body measurements. We use these measurements to draft a basic block pattern on paper, which is then modified as necessary to create the garment’s specific style while ensuring the perfect fit and drape.
Next, we use the pattern to create the suit’s components and loosely sew them together. The client visits us in-person and tries this skeleton baste on, allowing us to check the fit and balance, and make any necessary adjustments.
After your baste fitting, we break the garment back down and make modifications based on what we’ve learned from your first fitting. From here, we add some of the finer details and begin bringing the vision together with greater clarity.
Here, we add lapel facings and baste the lining in place. This step allows us to make any further modifications and develop a truer picture of the final garment.
Your third and final fitting now brings you to your completed garment, ready to take home. At this stage, we can still make some minor adjustments if necessary – though every last detail should be to your absolute satisfaction.
